Sunflower Hīkoi
An iconic picture taken just as we were about to arrive at @allpressstudio after marching the sunflowers through the city in a long, single file line.
The hīkoi (walk/march) was timed to occur at 8:30AM on a Friday, amongst the hustle and bustle of the morning commute. Walking past the schools, whole class rooms of children ran up to their window and stared in fascination.
Road workers exclaimed, "What's the protest about?!"
Our reply, "It's not a protest, it's a celebration"
